In a recent turn of events, the Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP) has announced the rescheduling of FC Porto's visit to Arouca from September 28 to September 29. The decision, supported by competition regulations and following consultation procedures with sports societies and public entities, was made due to a lack of minimum security conditions.

The initial game was set to kick off during the seventh round of the Primeira Liga, but was postponed due to the Harvest Fair in Arouca, which attracts thousands of visitors and poses security issues. The rescheduled game will now take place on a Monday at 20:00.

FC Porto currently leads the Primeira Liga with 15 points, ahead of Sporting (12 points) and Moreirense (points not specified). However, the rescheduling has caused some controversy, as FC Porto has contested the LPFP president's decision to reschedule the game unilaterally. The club criticizes the decision, arguing that it would give them less time to rest before the clash with Estrella Vermelha.

The vila-condenses (Arouca) have expressed total disagreement with the rescheduled date, considering it highly penalizing and manifestly prejudicial for their team planning. FC Porto, on the other hand, has proposed October 30 as an alternative date for the rescheduled game against Arouca.

Notably, FC Porto will have three games in the same week, culminating in the reception of Benfica for the seventh round of the Primeira Liga. The club's visit to Benfica, from the inaugural round, was postponed to the next Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the game between Rio Ave and Famalicão has been brought forward by one day and will start at 20:30. This change in schedule allows for a smoother transition following the rescheduling of the FC Porto vs. Arouca match.

As the sole leader in the Primeira Liga, FC Porto's schedule remains challenging, but the club will undoubtedly strive to maintain their position at the top. The rescheduled game against Arouca will close the seventh round of the championship, adding an extra layer of excitement to an already intense football season.
