Jena-based Intershop AG remains in the red - Intershop AG Secures €4.4M Funding Amid Revenue Drop and Net Loss

Intershop AG, a software company based in Jena, has successfully raised capital of approximately €4.4 million. This move aims to expand the company's financial flexibility and facilitate strategic investments in its cloud business and AI initiatives. Despite this positive development, Intershop has been facing challenges, with a 15% decline in revenue and a net loss in the first nine months of 2025.

Intershop's revenue for the first nine months of 2025 stood at €25.2 million, a 15% drop compared to the same period last year. This decline can be attributed to decreases in software license sales and service operations. The company's net loss for the period was €1.7 million, a stark contrast to the slight profit of €253,000 it made in the prior-year period. Intershop's workforce has also decreased, from 270 to 244 employees. However, the company's cloud-based software solutions segment has reported stable revenue of €15.3 million. Looking ahead, Intershop expects its revenue to decline by 10 to 15 percent and an operating loss in the low single-digit millions for the full year 2025.

Intershop AG's capital raise of approximately €4.4 million provides a financial boost for the company's cloud business and AI initiatives. Despite the recent revenue decline and net loss, the company's cloud-based software solutions segment remains stable. Intershop's future outlook for the full year 2025, however, indicates continued challenges with expected revenue decline and operating loss.
