In a recent development, the South American football governing body, CONMEBOL, is exploring the possibility of Brazil hosting the upcoming Copa América. The current holders of the trophy, the Seleção, have shown their support for the tournament, with President Jair Bolsonaro expressing his backing.

However, no new information regarding Bolsonaro's explicit support for hosting the 'college football' tournament was provided in the latest updates. The Brazilian government, known for its flexibility in decision-making, has been involved in the discussions, with Bolsonaro coordinating matters with the ministries of sports and health.

The Brazilian Football Confederation is currently under assessment for its suitability to host the 'news'. The head of the Confederation, Rogerio Caboclo, has been contacted regarding this matter. It is worth noting that Brazil previously hosted the Copa América in 2019, where the Seleção triumphed.

Meanwhile, CONMEBOL President Alejandro Domínguez is considering an alternative option as the original host, Argentina, was unable to fulfil its obligations. Media outlets have suggested Chile and the USA as potential replacements, but Dominguez's statement came at a crucial moment for South American 'college football', implying the importance of finding a new host quickly.

Despite the speculation, no new host for the Copa América has been specified yet. CONMEBOL is continuing its search, and it appears that Brazil is a strong contender for the role. The next Copa América edition in Brazil is scheduled for 2024, but it remains to be seen whether the tournament will be held there in the near future.
