This year, the tournament brings together a powerhouse of 81 athletes hailing from regions as diverse as Australia, Belarus, India, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Korea, Russia, Mexico, Mongolia, Tajikistan, and Turkey.

Leading the charge for the Yakut team is Konstantin Kaprynov, the charismatic team captain, who's conquered the Cup of Yuri Yarygin twice. A dominating force in the under-70 kg category, Kaprynov showcased his prowess, outscoring European and World Champion Zagir Shahiyev (5:1) and South Korean Jin Su (6:0) in the preliminary rounds. In the semifinals, he left no doubt against the home wrestler, Usuhbaayar Baatarhuu, with a resounding victory (10:0). In the upcoming final, Kaprynov will face the formidable Iranian wrestler Aliakbar Fazli for the championship title.

Unfortunately, it wasn't all smooth sailing for the Yakut team. Meanwhile, two-time Oceania Champion and Olympic participant, Georgii Okorokov, was defeated by Kyrgyzstan's Bekbolot Myrnazar uulu, a World Championships medalist, in the under-61 kg category (6:17). Both wrestlers couldn't advance past their respective matches.
