Steve Borthwick, the head coach of England's rugby union team, has urged his side to embrace being "hunted" by opponents during the upcoming World Cup in Sunderland. According to a report from AFP, Mitchell, the coach of the England women's rugby team, named his side to play the United States on Wednesday.

England will kick-off the tournament against the 10th-ranked United States on Friday. The Red Roses, as England's women's rugby team is known, are the world's top-ranked side and have lost only once in their past 58 matches, with a current winning streak standing at 27 games.

Mitchell, when asked about the pressure of being labeled as favorites for the tournament, stated that being favorites is irrelevant to his team. "We are aware that we are a target, but we look forward to this challenge," he said. The coach emphasized that his team will start the tournament equal with all other teams, focusing on earning the right each week.

The Red Roses are in Pool A and will also face Samoa and Australia in the tournament. Mitchell expressed that every team is expected to rise significantly when playing against England in the World Cup. "We will focus on improving our performance and margins," he said.

The loss occurred in the Covid-delayed 2022 World Cup final against New Zealand. Mitchell emphasized the importance of staying focused on England's own performance and not getting distracted by the opposition. "The United States will be a formidable opponent, but we will take care of our performance and neutralize their threats," he said.

England's women's rugby team is eager to defend their title and showcase their skills on the international stage. With Mitchell's guidance, they are ready to face the challenges that come their way and emerge victorious in the 2023 World Cup.
