This event is part of the official calendar of World Taekwondo and will use the new rules of World Taekwondo with the application of the updated KPNP K-2 electronic system.

The Kazakhstan Open 2025 symbolizes the country's return to the map of international taekwondo after an eight-year hiatus since the last G-1 level tournament was held in Kazakhstan in 2015 (Almaty) and 2017 (Atyrau). The event is expected to attract high-ranking guests, including World Taekwondo President Dr. Chungwon Choue and the President of the Asian Taekwondo Union, as well as members of the World Federation Council.
The competition covers three age categories: cadets, juniors, and adults, with a limit of 250 participants per category. The Kazakhstan Open 2025 is a testament to Kazakhstan's commitment to promoting taekwondo at the international level and its ambition to host future events such as the 2026 Grand Prix Final and a bid for the 2027 World Championships.
This event signals Kazakhstan’s renewed prominence in the international taekwondo scene and showcases state-of-the-art competition technology and official WT-sanctioned rules.
