Classified as a G-1 category international taekwondo tournament, the Kazakhstan Open 2025 will host athletes from 23 countries, including Olympic champions and world-renowned competitors. The competition will be divided into cadet, junior, and adult divisions, with a limit of 250 participants per division.

Ahead of the tournament, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Dr. Choue, highlighting the event's role in taekwondo development and international cooperation. The meeting included the exchange of honours, with President Tokayev awarding Dr. Choue the Order of Dostyk (Friendship), second degree, and Dr. Choue presenting President Tokayev with a ninth dan black belt.
