International Soccer Tournament Disappointment Persists: Weber Fails to Secure a Medal Due to illness

German Javelin Thrower Julian Weber Falls Short of Podium at World Championships in Tokyo

Julian Weber, the German javelin thrower, expressed confidence in his ability to win more medals and continue improving, but he fell short of the podium at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

Weber, who is in the best shape of his life this season, struggled with his throws from the start of the competition. His best throw during the event was 86.11 meters, which was not enough to qualify for bronze, falling short of the qualifying distance of 86.67 meters.

Keshorn Walcott from Trinidad and Tobago won the gold medal with a throw of 88.16 meters, while Anderson Peters from Grenada took the silver with a throw of 89.90 meters. Curtis Thompson from the USA won the bronze medal with a throw of 87.48 meters.

Weber's coach, Burkhard Looks, advised him to focus on involving his legs in his throws after his first two attempts in Tokyo. Looks also stated that Weber cannot perform miracles and needs time to recover from an infection that had left him bedridden for a week.

Despite the recent setbacks, Weber remains optimistic about his future in the sport. "I will come back stronger after my latest disappointment," Weber said.

Weber's last major victory was at the European Championships in Munich three years ago, where he won the javelin throw event. In the last important meeting in Zurich, Weber exceeded 91 meters twice, setting a personal best of 91.51 meters.

Weber qualified for the final in Tokyo with a throw of 87.21 meters and expressed confidence in his potential to perform well in the final. However, he could not break his final curse at the championships in Tokyo, finishing fifth in the event.

Despite not winning a medal at global events, Weber has finished fourth at several recent competitions, including the World Championships in Doha in 2019. Weber will undoubtedly be looking to build on his experience and improve his performance in future events.
