International Soccer Tournament Continues: Weber Fails to Secure a Medal Due to Illness

In the recent Athletics World Championships held in Tokyo, Julian Weber from Germany failed to win a medal in the javelin throw, finishing fifth with a distance of 85.42 meters. This disappointing result came after the silver medal win by Anderson Peters from Grenada, who threw an impressive 88.16 meters to clinch the gold.

Weber's performance was criticised by his coach, Burkhard Looks, who stated that it was "just arm throwing." This assessment was made after Weber's first two attempts in the competition, which failed to meet the qualifying distance for the final round.

The reason for Weber's poor performance appeared to be his recent illness. Weber had been bedridden for a week due to an infection, and he looked weakened during the competition. He was treated by a doctor or specialist before the World Championships, but the specific details of his treatment are not known.

Despite his recent struggles, Weber expressed confidence in his ability to win more medals and improve. He attributed his disappointing results at global events to his illness, stating that an average person needs seven days to recover from an infection.

Meanwhile, Keshorn Walcott from Trinidad and Tobago won the gold medal in the javelin throw with a distance of 88.16 meters. Curtis Thompson from the USA secured the bronze medal with a throw of 86.67 meters.

In other events, Imke Onnen from Germany qualified for the final of the high jump, while Christina Honsel also qualified for the final of the high jump. In the triple jump, Cuba's Leyanis Pérez Hernández won with a jump of 14.94 meters. In her World Championships debut, triple jumper Caroline Joyeux finished tenth.

The German Athletics Federation has won three silvers after six days of the World Championships. It remains to be seen if they can add more medals to their tally in the coming days.
