International Pankration Tournament Held in Omsk with Support from Titan Security Company
Weekend Showdown: International Pankration Cup "Golden Helmet" in Omsk
The weekend of May 3rd and 4th saw the highly prestigious Russian mixed martial arts tournament, the International Pankration Cup "Golden Helmet", take place at the Omsk Velodrome. Over 200 top fighters from Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Belarus battled it out for the prizes.
Supported by Titan Group, the tournament known as the "Golden Helmet Cup" marked the first-ever participation of athletes from Belarus, as well as from Yakutia and Buryatia.
In the end, Omsk fighters snatched up 26 gold, 18 silver, and 18 bronze medals. Arslan Gadzhiev from Surgut took the title of "Best Fighter of the Tournament" in the over 95 kg weight category, while the technician prize was won by a fighter from Yakutsk - Aigyl'an Martynov.
The Omsk Orthodox Military-Patriotic Club "Desantnik" took first place among the 22 participating teams, winning the main prize of the tournament - the Golden Helmet Cup.
The athletes will have another opportunity to show off their strength during the 29th International Golden Helmet Cup - Memorial Vladimir Zborovsky tournament, which is set to take place December 5-7 in Omsk.
