International NFL Celebrations: Seven Cities Preparing for Kickoff Events
The NFL is gearing up for an exciting international celebration, hosting watch parties named "NFL Experience" from September 4-7 in seven cities around the globe. These events, which are free for fans, aim to bring the NFL experience to fans worldwide and celebrate the growing international fan base of the league.
The cities hosting these events are Manchester, U.K.; Berlin, Germany; Madrid, Spain; Mexico City, Mexico; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Toronto, Canada; and Brisbane, Australia. Each city will offer a unique experience, with local entertainment and immersive gameday celebrations.
In Manchester, the NFL Experience Manchester event at Courts Club will screen the Week 1 opener (Steelers vs. Jets), with special giveaways and fan experiences available to those who register via NFL OnePass. Fans can expect a lively atmosphere, with highlights including Aaron Rodgers facing his former team and Justin Fields’ debut.
Rio de Janeiro's official watch party at Armazém Utopia is designed as a gameday event to enhance the NFL atmosphere globally. Meanwhile, watch parties at Felons Barrel Hall in Brisbane will celebrate the kickoff and bring fans together for live NFL streaming and interaction.
Berlin, Madrid, Mexico City, and Toronto will also host similar NFL Experience events, with a focus on community gathering, live game viewing, giveaways, and immersive NFL-themed activities. Specific venues and detailed schedules weren't provided, but they are part of the global launch celebrations.
At these events, fans can compete in tailgate games, pose for photos with the Vince Lombardi Trophy, and enjoy gameday food. NFL Combine-style challenges will also be offered, providing fans with a taste of the NFL experience.
Peter O'Reilly, NFL executive vice president for club business, international and league events, stated that these events are a way to celebrate the growing international fan base and bring NFL excitement to fans worldwide. O'Reilly also mentioned that the appetite for football has never been stronger, and the NFL is creating more ways for fans to experience the game to make it a year-round, global NFL experience.
The NFL claims to have more than 183 million fans worldwide, and these events are part of the NFL's efforts to celebrate the passion of their international fan base and bring the excitement of the NFL Kickoff directly to fans around the globe. The NFL is starting the 2021 season with watch parties in seven international cities, building on the success of the International Games and the passion they see from fans in various markets.
