International Music Event at Park University Presenting Violinist David Radzynski and Pianist Lolita Lisovskaya-Sayevich
On March 14, 2025, at 7:30 p.m., the 1900 Building in Mission Woods, Kan., will host a remarkable concert as part of the Park University International Center for Music's (ICM) 2024-25 concert season.
The event will feature renowned pianist Lolita Lisovskaya-Sayevich, who has won first prizes at prestigious competitions such as the Chopin International Piano Competition in 1993 and the Nikolai Rubinstein International Piano Competition in 1996. She also triumphed in the Iowa Piano International Competition in 2007. Lisovskaya-Sayevich is not only a talented performer but also the collaborative pianist and director of collaborative piano at the ICM. She studied under Stanislav Ioudenitch and earned a graduate certificate in applied music/piano from Park University in 2008.
Joining Lisovskaya-Sayevich will be violinist David Radzynski, who holds a graduate certificate in music performance/violin from the Park ICM, which he earned in 2014. Radzynski has an impressive career, having served as the concertmaster of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra from 2015-2022 and the Cleveland Orchestra from 2022-2024.
The program for the concert will include "Five Melodies for Violin and Piano, Op. 35," composed by Sergei Prokofiev, and "Personal Verses for Violin and Piano," composed by Jan Radzynski. The performance will also feature "Violin Sonata No. 32 in B-Flat Major, K. 454," composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Guest conductor Barbara Yahr, music director of the Greenwich Village Orchestra in New York, will lead the concert. The general public tickets cost $30, while student tickets cost $10.
Unfortunately, a concert scheduled for Friday, April 11, featuring Lisovskaya-Sayevich and oboist Hansjörg Schellenberger, had to be cancelled in early December 2024 and will not be rescheduled.
