International marathon status granted to the "Ulya Dala Jorgy" race event
The International Equestrian Marathon "Uly Dala Jorgy" has commenced in the Zhangeldin district of the Kostanai region, specifically in the village of Torghai. This five-day event, held in 2025, is not only a sports spectacle but also a significant cultural celebration.
The marathon is being organised to mark the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan and the 140th anniversary of the great enlightener Mirzakhyp Dulatuly. Bakytzhan Turlibekov, President of the JORYQ Equestrian Federation, has outlined the rules of the marathon, ensuring a fair and exciting competition.
A total of eight teams are participating in the marathon, with three foreign teams joining from Kyrgyzstan and Russia. Unfortunately, one team from the Zhambyl region did not register for the event.
Dulat Sveykhanov, Head of the Sports Department of Kostanai region, has affirmed that all conditions have been created for the marathon to take place at the highest level. Eraly Togzhanov, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the JORYQ Equestrian Federation, expressed gratitude to the Kostanai region's administration and local residents for hosting the event.
The marathon route stretches from Torghai to Arkalyk, providing a picturesque backdrop for the competition. Eraly Togzhanov also acknowledged Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's focus on the development of national sports and the prosperity of the Torghai region.
Bakytzhan Turlibekov wished all participating teams good luck, expressing his hope for a successful and enjoyable event. He also thanked the President of Kazakhstan for his support in organising the marathon and for his commitment to the development of equestrian sports in the country.
This year's marathon has gained international scale, attracting teams from neighbouring countries and showcasing Kazakhstan's rich equestrian heritage to the world. The International Equestrian Marathon "Uly Dala Jorgy" promises to be an unforgettable event, celebrating Kazakhstan's culture, sports, and the spirit of unity and friendship.
