International Heavy Athletics Competition for Youth Commences in Mexico, Featuring Athletes from Belarus
The 2023 Youth World Weightlifting Championships are currently underway in Guadalajara, Mexico, and Belarus is proudly represented by a team of talented athletes. The competition, which runs from November 15 to 23, involves participants from 44 countries, including Belarus, Mexico, China, Egypt, Russia, and the United States.
A total of 229 weightlifters are competing in this prestigious event, vying for medals in twenty weight categories, ten each for boys and girls. Among the Belarusian contingent are five athletes: one girl and four boys.
The Belarusian team is off to a strong start. In the men's category, Ignatius Pavliukovich will compete in the 89 kg category on November 20, followed by Vladislav Sakovich in the 109 kg category on November 22. Egor Grinko and Egor Popov will represent Belarus in the men's 67 kg category on a day yet to be announced. Ekaterina Yakushova will represent the country in the 64 kg weight class on November 18.
The Belarusian athletes are determined to make their country proud and bring home some medals. The weightlifting world is watching as these young athletes showcase their strength and skill in the heart of Mexico.
