2025 Territory of Sign Theater Festival to Take Place in Moscow
The eighth edition of the international "Territory of Sign" theater festival is set to take place at the Moscow Theater of Mimic and Gesture from October 6 to 12, 2025. This festival, which aims to deepen mutual recognition and understanding among deaf people from different cities and countries, will feature theater groups from various parts of the world.
According to Robert Fomin, the head of the festival's organizing committee and artistic director of the Theater of Mimic and Gesture, the festival serves as a tool for transmitting important values such as friendship between peoples and mutual understanding.
The festival will consist of several categories for awards, including Best Play (musical, dramatic, plastic), Best Visual Miniature (Visual Vernacular), Best Theater Collective, Best Director's Work, Best Artistic Design, Best Male Role, Best Female Role, Best Supporting Male Role, Best Supporting Female Role, and Special Jury Prize of the Festival.
Among the participating groups are those from Yerevan, Italy, India, UAE, Slovenia, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Belarus. The Municipal Sign Language Theater "Indigo" from Tomsk is also set to take part in this prestigious event.
The winners of the various categories will receive prizes.
