International Conflict in Gaza: Russia vocalizes disapproval and rejection towards Israel's planned annexation of the Palestinian territory.

Israel's plan to take control of the Gaza Strip has sparked strong criticism from the international community, with countries like Germany, the European Union, China, and many Muslim nations voicing their concerns.

The United Nations (UN) has been particularly vocal in its opposition to the Israeli government's plan for a complete military takeover of Gaza City and the wider Gaza Strip. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, has demanded an "immediate halt" to the plan, warning that such action violates international law and will cause massive forced displacement, increased deaths, and severe humanitarian suffering.

The UN has urged Israel to instead allow full, unrestricted humanitarian aid access and to prioritize saving civilian lives rather than escalating conflict. The International Court of Justice has also ruled that Israel must end its occupation and support a two-state solution recognizing Palestinian self-determination, framing Israel’s expansion plan as contrary to these mandates.

Russia has also condemned Israel's plan, with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs suggesting that it risks exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the Palestinian enclave. Thirty-nine people were reportedly killed in the Gaza Strip over a 24-hour period, and the Health Ministry, administered by Hamas, reported 491 injuries in the same timeframe.

The Palestinian Authority has denounced the plan as a new escalation that threatens regional stability. Nabil Abou Rudeina, spokesperson for the Palestinian presidency, issued a statement denouncing the new escalation, stating that Israel's policies, including the reoccupation of Gaza, attempts to annex the West Bank, and the Judaisation of Jerusalem, threaten security and stability at both the regional and global levels.

While Israel’s government and military leadership have approved and are proceeding with the plan, the broader international community—including UN human rights officials and legal bodies—has called for de-escalation, full humanitarian aid access, and the protection of civilian populations. Around twenty Arab and Muslim countries have also condemned Israel's plan to take control of Gaza.

The Israeli army is reportedly preparing to seize control of the city of Gaza, with the aim to "defeat" Hamas and ensure the release of hostages. The plan includes provisions for providing humanitarian aid to the civilian population outside combat zones. Minister of Defense, Israel Katz, announced that the army is already preparing for the full implementation of the plan.

The live broadcast has ended, but the international community continues to monitor the situation closely and call for peace and respect for international law. The plan goes against the decision of the International Court of Justice that Israel must end its occupation as soon as possible.
