"International Community Backs India in Battle Against Terrorism: Statement from NCP-SCP Parliamentarian Supriya Sule"
Five-Nation Diplomatic Outreach Concludes in Egypt
Cairo, Egypt – Winding up a crucial diplomatic mission, the mixed parliamentary group, led by NCP-SCP MP Supriya Sule, concluded their four-country tour in Egypt, following visits to South Africa, Ethiopia, Qatar, and now Egypt.
Discussing the diplomatic undertaking, Supriya Sule extended her gratitude to the central leadership.
"I owe a debt of gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr S Jaishankar, and Kiren Rijiju for placing their trust in us. We've had a positive response. Those we met confirmed only one thing: they oppose terrorism, stand with India, and endorse India's Operation Sindoor," Sule remarked in Cairo.
Initiated after the April 22 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam that took the lives of 26 innocent civilians, Operation Sindoor was a military operation involving multi-party delegations sent to friendly nations to dispel misinformation and strengthen India's position on terrorism.
Regarding the necessity of such diplomatic outreach, Sule commented, "Innumerable false news and propaganda have been circulating, and when we shared the truth with everyone we met, they all asserted that this delegation concept is a positive stride."
Supriya Sule further stated, "If someone has imitated it, it means our initiative has been successful. They must have thought that this initiative within Operation Sindoor, which Prime Minister Modi and the MEA implemented, is effective and successful, they copied it."
The delegation, encompassing MPs from various political parties, engaged with top leaders, think tanks, and opinion shapers in each nation, emphasizing India's united stance against terrorism and its plea for global cooperation in battling this persistent threat.
On June 4, the all-party delegation, led by Supriya Sule, met Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty in the New Administrative Capital.
Following the meeting, Abdelatty denounced the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam that left 26 civilians dead and stated, "Such attacks are intolerable."
Characterizing the relationship between India and Egypt as "historic," Abdelatty added, "We must strengthen our economic relationship to align with the excellent political ties that exist between our countries and their leaders. Our stance is unambiguous: we vehemently condemn the terrorist attack in Kashmir."
The Egyptian minister told ANI, "It was a pleasure to receive the Parliamentary delegation from India. Our relationship is historic, but we need to intensify our trade, investment, and economic ties to match the excellent political ties between our countries and their leaders."
The delegation, led by Supriya Sule, consisted of Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Vikramjeet Singh Sahney, Manish Tewari, Anurag Singh Thakur, Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, Anand Sharma, the former Minister of Commerce & Industry, V Muraleedharan, the Former Minister of State for External Affairs, and Syed Akbaruddin, the Former Permanent Representative of India to the UN.
The mission aimed to apprise international partners of India's response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and its larger struggle against cross-border terrorism while forging links with influential figures in key countries. (ANI)
