International charities call upon global leaders to halt Israel's military action on Gaza, decrying the ongoing brutality as indefensible.

In the war-torn Gaza Strip, the closure of 21 out of 50 treatment centers has put approximately 4,000 children at risk, according to the UN humanitarian affairs office. This is just one of the many challenges facing the residents of Gaza, who are struggling to survive amidst ongoing conflict and a deteriorating living situation.

The makeshift tents that some residents are using for shelter have seen better days, offering little protection against the elements. Despite the ongoing offensive, some residents of Gaza City have returned to their ruined homes, a testament to their resilience but also a concerning sign of the dire situation.

The aid group, which includes Medecins Sans Frontieres, Oxfam International, and Save the Children, has accused Israel of forcibly displacing Gaza City's inhabitants and rendering the strip's main city "uninhabitable." The hygiene conditions in Gaza are so dire that they could lead to a massive spread of diseases, skin rashes, and public health crises.

Families in Gaza City are forced to use garbage and plastic for heating food due to a lack of cooking gas and firewood. The journey by car or truck from Gaza City to the center or south of the strip can cost up to $2,000 (€1,700), a steep price for many struggling families.

At al-Mawasi, the overcrowded "safe zone" on the coast, there is no portable or washing water, the camp lacks food, electricity, toilets, and drainage for the sewage which flows between tents. The price of a tent can reach $1,000 - if tents are available.

The leaders of 22 aid agencies have called on world leaders to urgently intervene in the war on Gaza. The UN states that the volume of water, food, medicine, and fuel entering Gaza does not meet the urgent needs of the people due to Israel's blockade. Only 17 out of Gaza's 36 hospitals are partially functioning, with the rest not providing services.

Israel has ordered one million residents to leave Gaza City and has opened a temporary second evacuation route along Salahuddin Road. Walking the 22km escape routes from Gaza City can take up to 12 hours in temperatures of up to 36 degrees.

The Gaza health ministry has reported 432 deaths from starvation, including 146 children, in the last 23 months. Over 65,000 people have died in Gaza in the last 23 months, according to Gazan authorities. The names of the 22 government leaders called to actively engage in ending the Gaza conflict are not explicitly listed, but key figures mentioned include Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and several foreign ministers from Germany, the UK, Italy, Australia, and New Zealand who issued joint statements; additional leaders likely include those attending summits in Qatar and the UN General Assembly context involving countries like France, Canada, and the USA.

As the conflict continues, Israel is expanding its air and ground offensive in Gaza. The future remains uncertain for the children and families of Gaza, who are facing a daily struggle to survive. The international community must act now to alleviate the suffering of the people of Gaza.
