The Park University International Center for Music (ICM) is set to kick-off its 2024-25 concert season with a captivating performance on Friday, November 1, at 7:30 p.m. The concert, which will take place in the Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel on the Parkville Campus, will be under the direction of guest conductor, Dr. Laura Jackson, Music Director and Conductor of the Reno Philharmonic.

The program for the concert includes a selection of masterpieces, including "Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G Major, BWV 1048," by Johann Sebastian Bach, "Serenade for Strings in E Major, Op.22," by Antonin Dvorak, and "Simple Symphony, Op.4," by Benjamin Britten. The concert promises to be a symphony of harmonious melodies that will resonate with the audience.

While there is no confirmed information regarding Laura Jackson conducting the Park University ICM Orchestra on November 1, 2024, her extensive career in music speaks volumes about her expertise. Jackson has also recorded notable works such as Augusta Reed Thomas's "Spirit Musings" and Michael Daugherty's "Time Cycle" with the Bournemouth (England) Symphony Orchestra Symphony, with Marin Alsop and Mei-Ann Chen for Naxos.

In addition to the November 1 concert, the ICM will host a strings recital on Thursday, November 14, starting at 7:30 p.m. at the 1900 Building in Mission Woods, Kan. The strings studios, led by Ben Sayevich, violin, Daniel Veis, cello, and Chung-Hoon Peter Chun, viola, will showcase their talents in this event.

Admission to both events is free, but attendees are asked to RSVP in advance. For more information about the concert and the strings recital, visit ICM's website.
