International Beach Sprint Teams Have Set Their Sights on Competing Against Turkey and Spain

The British Rowing Team has announced its squad for the upcoming European Rowing Coastal and Beach Sprint Championships and the Coupe de la Jeunesse Beach Sprint 2025. A total of twenty-three athletes will represent Great Britain across both events.

At the European Championships, which will take place in Antalya, Turkey from October 8-12, Olivia Hodgson and Thomas Biddle, Isabel Soyinka, James Cox, Sol Chamberlain-Hyde, and Laura McKenzie will race in the U19 Coastal Mixed double sculls, Women's Solo, Men's Solo, and Women's Solo categories respectively. Lara Brittain and Jerry Owen will compete in the Coastal Mixed double sculls, with Cameron Buchan and Natacha Searson serving as reserves.

In the Coastal Men's Solo, Charles Cousins has been named as the reserve, while Megan Hewison will represent Great Britain in the Women's Solo.

Tom Pattichis, the GB Rowing Team head coach for Beach Sprints, will lead the team alongside coaches Leticia Muziol, Kath Coleman-Jones, Lewis McCue, and Mark Dunstan. Ben Davis-Moore will serve as the physiotherapist.

For the Coupe de la Jeunesse Beach Sprint 2025, which will take place in Provincia de Cádiz, Spain from October 31 to November 2, Phoebe Asquith, Rosie Reynolds, Lexi Gill, Elyssa Stoker, Louie Walker, Dylan Balkwill, Gethin Balkwill, Lucas Brook, Lucy Hart, Helen Middleton, Tom Jenkinson, Sam Cubbage, and Doug Macdonald will coach and support the team. Lucy Hart will serve as the Head Coach for the 2025 event.

The athletes racing for Great Britain in the National Federation Coastal Endurance events have not been specified.

The British Rowing Team is gearing up for an exciting and competitive season ahead, with high hopes for success at both the European and Coupe de la Jeunesse Beach Sprint Championships.
