International Asia Cup contest resumes after delay due to controversy over India's diplomatic gesture

In the world of cricket, the upcoming game between Pakistan and the home side in the regional T20 tournament has created a stir. If Pakistan, known for their 'crazy games', emerges victorious in the current stage, they will face India, famous for their 'free games', in the next round this weekend. However, the lead-up to this highly anticipated match has been marred by an incident that occurred during a previous game.

On September 14, a code of conduct violation took place, but the specific nature of the breach and the details leading to it remain unclear. What is known is that the incident caused a rift between the teams, with Pakistan and India refusing to shake hands after the game against Zimbabwe.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has acknowledged the incident and expressed a willingness to conduct an inquiry into the matter. Andy Pycroft, the match referee for the UAE encounter, was present during the controversial event. Despite the controversy, Pycroft remained in his role for the subsequent game.

Following talks with the ICC, Pycroft issued an apology to the manager and captain of the Pakistan cricket team. He attributed the incident to a miscommunication, stating that it was not his intention to cause any offence.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), however, alleged that Pycroft instructed the captains not to shake hands at the toss. This claim has not been confirmed by Pycroft or the ICC.

The September 14 incident has cast a shadow over the upcoming Pakistan-India match, which will be the first time the rivals have faced off in cricket since the countries fought a brief but deadly border conflict in May. The game in Dubai was delayed due to discussions between the PCB and the ICC, adding to the tension.

As of now, the ICC has not announced the results of the inquiry into the code of conduct violation. The delay in resolution has further fuelled speculation and anticipation surrounding the upcoming match. The cricket world eagerly awaits the outcome of the inquiry and the resolution of this controversial issue.
