The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has endorsed a significant tri-national border connection point agreement involving Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. This development, a significant step in Central Asia, is expected to strengthen intergovernmental relations, foster peace and progress, and promote economic collaboration in the region.

The agreement, a cornerstone of the UAE's broader diplomatic vision, aims to build sustainable, mutually beneficial economic and strategic cooperation. This vision centres on initiatives in infrastructure, energy, trade, and digitalization, with the goal of driving regional growth, stability, and integration into global markets.

Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, the UAE Minister of State, expressed optimism about the agreement. He emphasized the importance of diplomatic dialogue in resolving disputes and ensuring lasting stability. Al Sayegh reaffirmed the UAE's deep-rooted ties with Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.

The tri-national border connection point is expected to enhance security across shared borders, drive development in Central Asia, and contribute to broader international peace and stability. Additionally, the agreement is anticipated to foster peace and progress in the region, aligning with the UAE's commitment to supporting the efforts of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan in this regard.

The UAE's endorsement of the agreement also contributes to global harmony, reflecting its broader diplomatic vision regarding international partnerships in Central Asia. Beyond economics, the UAE plays a pragmatic diplomatic role, fostering dialogue and cooperation to maintain regional harmony and prevent conflict escalation.

In a symbolic gesture, the Khujand Declaration of Eternal Friendship was signed along with the tri-national border connection point agreement. The declaration, between Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, underscores the countries' commitment to fostering lasting peace, cooperation, and mutual respect.

The UAE's contributions to the agreement extend beyond diplomatic endorsement. The country has committed to supporting the region's development through strategic infrastructure investment and people-to-people connectivity. For instance, it has taken a majority stake in Kazakhstan’s Khorgos special economic zone and invested in energy projects in Turkmenistan.

The UAE's vision for regional and global harmony encompasses economic development, infrastructure investment, diplomatic engagement, and multilateral dialogue. By fostering interconnectedness, stability, and shared prosperity between the Gulf and Central Asia, the UAE positions itself as a key regional connector and global partner.
