Intermittent rain forecasted for select regions of Khabarovsk

As the summer season progresses, residents and visitors in Far Eastern Russia are bracing for a mix of warm temperatures and potential rain showers, according to meteorological forecasts.

In Khabarovsk, temperatures are expected to reach a high of 27°C (80.6°F) on July 16, with mostly cloudy conditions and a chance of rain showers. The city is anticipated to experience moderate easterly winds, making for a comfortable yet damp day.

Komsomolsk-on-Amur, situated close to Khabarovsk, is likely to experience similar weather conditions, albeit with slightly cooler temperatures. Specific forecasts for Komsomolsk-on-Amur have not been provided, but the region's proximity to Khabarovsk suggests that it will also see mixed weather.

The southern districts and remote areas of the region are expected to mirror Khabarovsk's weather patterns, with temperatures ranging from +27 to +30°C during the day and +18 to +21°C at night. These areas may experience rain showers and thunderstorms, especially in regions prone to such weather patterns.

The hydrological conditions of the Amur and Ussuri Rivers are also of concern. During summer, rivers in the region typically experience increased water levels due to rainfall and melting snow. However, specific hydrological data for July 16, 2025, is not available. The Amur River in Khabarovsk is expected to rise by 10-15 cm over the next two days, currently at 185 cm with water temperatures around 25°C. In Komsomolsk, the Amur level has dropped by 4 cm to 213 cm, while near Nikolaevsk, it has risen slightly by 1 cm. The Ussuri River is currently 0.5 meters below normal. Localized flooding of up to 1.4 meters deep has been reported.

Hydrological forecasts report drops in water levels on various rivers in the region, indicating that the rainfall may be temporary. Other northern districts will remain dry. In remote areas of the Ohotsk coast, light rain is possible overnight, followed by dry weather.

A western trough bringing rain is forecast for the Habarovsk region, as reported by the "Khabarovsk Krai Today" news agency. Brief showers are expected in Habarovsk on July 16, adding to the region's mixed weather conditions.

Wind speeds of up to 5-11 m/s are expected in remote areas of the Ohotsk coast, potentially impacting travel and outdoor activities. In southern districts, brief showers are expected during the day, with light rain at night.

As the summer progresses, it's essential for residents and visitors to stay informed about the weather and hydrological conditions in their specific areas to ensure safety and enjoy a pleasant summer experience.

Weather forecasts predict mixed weather conditions worldwide, including Khabarovsk and Komsomolsk-on-Amur in Far Eastern Russia, where temperatures are anticipated to reach highs of 27°C with rain showers and moderate easterly winds on July 16. The region's weather-forecasting data also indicates that the Amur and Ussuri Rivers may experience increased water levels due to rainfall and melting snow.
