Intentional hit-and-run incident in Estremoz leaves four individuals injured.
In the heart of Estremoz, a chaotic scene unfolded late at night, involving a 41-year-old driver who plowed into four pedestrians at the crossroad of Rua de São Domingos and Rua Outeiro.
As stated by locals and eye-witnesses, the driver seemed to deliberately accelerate towards the victims, causing mayhem in the quiet city. However, when questioned by the PSP, the driver claimed to have lost control, colliding with the individuals inadvertently.
Before the court, the driver's story took a darker turn as they tested positive for alcohol, above the legal limit. As a result, the driver was taken into custody and is scheduled to appear before the judicial authority on Friday.
The injured were offered aid at the scene, with three of them sustaining minor injuries and being discharged later in the night. Unfortunately, the fourth victim, a woman, was severely injured and transferred to Hospital do Espírito Santo, in Évora.
