Intensified Road Safety Measures: Truck Inspections Across Steinfurt County as Part of National Action Week
The Steinfurt District Police Department has continued its efforts to maintain road safety, focusing on various aspects of traffic management. On May 25, 2025, the department participated in a special operation named "Roadpol" under the theme "Operation Truck & Bus".
During the operation, officers stopped 20 heavy goods vehicles, nine drivers were caught speeding, and several fines were issued for improper cargo securing or seat belt violations. In the Laer area, a motorcyclist was fined for riding with an excessively loud engine, having removed the prescribed DB-Eater.
Administrative offense reports were filed for drivers using phones while driving and overtaking where prohibited. Two criminal charges were filed, one for violating the compulsory insurance law and another for driving without registration and insurance.
