Aims for a significant height increase - Intensified efforts to break existing records
The much-anticipated show, "Guinness World Records - The Great Show of World Records," is set to air live on Sat.1 during prime time on August 29 and 30. This two-day event will also be available to watch via the Joyn streaming service.
Viewers can expect a thrilling spectacle of bizarre, highly challenging, and entertaining record attempts. The show will feature some of the most unusual and extraordinary record attempts, showcasing feats of endurance, skill, and creativity.
One of the most unusual record attempts is by Thomas Weigel (34) from Bielefeld, who is attempting a unique Guinness record. He aims to identify as many tree species as possible by licking their bark within three minutes.
Another interesting attempt is by a 25-year-old woman named Sina Ruppenthal from Dortmund. She is attempting to break the "Men throwing" world record. Sina aims to lift and throw ten men, beating the current record time set by Liefia Ingalls at 39.50 seconds.
The show will also see Michelle Hunziker (48) and Jörg Pilawa (59) attempting various record attempts. Michelle, with her experience from shows like "Wetten, dass..?," expressed her excitement about working with Jörg Pilawa, as they have not collaborated before.
Jörg Pilawa, one of the show hosts, is equally enthusiastic about the collaboration, describing Michelle as "the best partner for such a show."
The event will be a big live event with the show, featuring some extreme endurance-based records, similar to those seen in recent Guinness events. For instance, a stand-up comedy marathon where comedian Benny Elbows performed non-stop for over 40 hours, and a marathon trumpet performance by Joshua Olusanya ("The Trumpet Influencer"), who played continuously for over 25 hours.
Additionally, viewers can vote for their "Record of the Heart," which will be included in the Guinness Book of Records. The show will air live over two consecutive evenings, with one of the records set to last a full 24 hours.
