In these areas, hurricane-force gusts are possible, with wind speeds anywhere between 90 and 130 km/h. "Some trees will be uprooted" a DWD meteorologist warns.
The danger of severe storms increases towards the southeast, according to weather experts. In places like Wangen im Allgäu, the risk is higher than in Reutlingen. "The Ostalb will still be hit quite heavily," the meteorologist adds, but the brunt might hit Bavaria.
