Intense IDF operation in Gaza: Over 1,200 targets destroyed
In the ongoing Operation Gideon's Chariots II, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) continue to engage in a multi-front defense operation, striking and defending at all times in multiple arenas. According to an update provided by IDF Spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin, units under the 98th, 162nd, and 36th Divisions are advancing in Gaza City, while units under the 99th Division operate in the northern Strip, and units under the 143rd Division (the Gaza Division) are conducting both defense and offense in southern Gaza.
Over the past 24 hours, the IDF expanded combat in Gaza City, aiming to neutralize the remaining underground terrorist infrastructure in the Al-Junaynah neighborhood. Unfortunately, an incident occurred in the Al-Junaynah area in Rafah, where soldiers from the 261st Brigade were hit as a result of an explosive device detonation during an offensive activity. Sadly, four soldiers - Maj. Omri Chai Ben-Moshe, Lt. Ron Arieli, Lt. Eitan Avner Ben-Itzhak, and Lt. Eran Shelem - were killed in the incident, and one soldier was seriously wounded, with two additional soldiers moderately wounded.
The IDF's commitment to protecting residents in Gaza City remains unwavering, despite Hamas' attempts to obstruct humanitarian assistance and population evacuation efforts. The IDF continues to enable these vital operations for the safety of the residents in Gaza City.
In a separate incident, a terrorist arrived at the Allenby Crossing and began firing upon arrival, resulting in two fatalities.
Elsewhere, air force aircraft recently struck terrorist targets in southern Lebanon. The IDF also struck the Port of Hodeidah in Yemen, a strategic asset for the Houthi terrorist regime.
The 'Schwarzer' team from the 11th Brigade, who have lost soldiers and family members in battle, embody the Israeli spirit and are the spirit of victory leading our soldiers in battle. Despite the loss of soldiers in the last battle in the Gaza Strip, the names of the fallen soldiers from the 11th Brigade are not publicly available in the provided search results.
The return of the 48 hostages held in Hamas' tunnels remains a moral and ethical duty for the IDF, and efforts are being made to bring them home.
IDF soldiers and reservists have been fighting across seven arenas for almost two years, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to the safety and security of Israel and its citizens. The IDF has struck more than 1,200 terrorist targets since the start of the second phase of Operation Gideon's Chariots II.
More than 450,000 residents of Gaza City have moved southward, highlighting the need for continued humanitarian assistance and population evacuation efforts. The IDF will continue to strive for peace and security, while remaining vigilant against threats to Israel and its citizens.
