Intense heat in UAE: Peak temperature reaches 48°C, rain forecasted in certain locations

On Saturday, August 9, 2025, rain is expected in some areas of the UAE, including parts of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah, with partly cloudy skies and chances of convective cloud formation in the afternoon.

Temperatures will be very high: up to 44°C in Dubai (34°C minimum), 35-45°C in Abu Dhabi, and 32-43°C in Sharjah. Humidity levels across the country will range from about 15% to 70% depending on location.

In Dubai, the maximum temperature is expected to be 44°C, with the minimum temperature at 34°C. The city will have partly cloudy skies with some chance of rain or convective clouds in the afternoon. Abu Dhabi temperatures will range between 35°C and 45°C, with rain expected in parts of the city. Sharjah will experience temperatures between 32°C and 43°C, with rain also expected.

Wind will be light to moderate from the southeasterly to northeasterly directions, blowing at 10–25 km/h, sometimes freshening and causing blowing dust. The sea conditions will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.

This rain follows some showers and even hail observed earlier in the week on Thursday, August 8, which brought a brief break from the intense summer heat. The overall summer in the UAE remains extremely hot, with August 1 reaching a record high of 51.8°C in Sweihan, Al Ain. The forecast suggests that temperatures will start to cool slightly after August 9, with rains predicted from August 10 onwards helping reduce heat in the following days.
