Intense Dialogue with Civic Organizations
Hamminkeln, June 2, 2025
Gathering for a Better Tomorrow
Representatives from various Hamminkeln communities, associations, and workshops convened with mayoral candidate Sascha Lippe at Gasthof Küpper, eager to discuss local needs and future planning. This meeting marked part of Lippe's ongoing dialogue with city residents, with 150 appearances in the last year through various events.
Lippe emphasized authentic engagement, stating, "I'm here to listen, understand, and take action on your concerns – both now and tomorrow."
Smoothing Out Volunteering Woes
Volunteering emerged as a significant topic, with many noting bureaucracy, succession issues, and confusing funding landscapes as barriers. Lippe proposed establishing a town hall central contact person to alleviate these concerns, garnering broad approval. Participants emphasized the need for straightforward help, particularly when applying for funding or permits.
Putting Hamminkeln on the Map
Effective, grounded city marketing was another recurring theme, focusing on bolstering district, association, and event visibility. Participants wanted targeted support to promote Hamminkeln as a unified network of vibrant communities – not for flashy ads, but for clear messages and a recognizable identity.
A Wall of Ideas
The evening ended with a "future wall," where participants pinned their ideas for joint action and improvement plans. One idea resonated strongly: thinking ahead about where they want their communities to be in ten to twenty years – not just focusing on repairs for tomorrow.
Appreciation and First Steps
Lippe acknowledged the time and effort contributed by volunteers, vowing to support and accelerate the implementation of good ideas. The day's attendees applauded the collaborative efforts and expressed interest in recurring events.
Participants were handed an "Insider Tips for Volunteers" card, which featured QR codes for funding programs and direct contacts for political representatives Charlotte Quik (MdL) and Sascha van Beek (MdB). This served as a first step toward navigating the funding jungle and a clear signal of support for those who engage.
The Volunteer Week continues on Wednesday with sports club representatives in Bötling, Hamminkeln, and Thursday with culture, tradition, and assistance sector representatives in Majert, Brünen, both starting at 7 PM. All are welcome.
Central Contact Person for Volunteering
With the appreciation for a central contact person for volunteers, the proposed CDU plan aims to create a dedicated role to serve as a one-stop hub for both volunteers and associations seeking help. The responsibilities may include coordinating activities and volunteers, offering information about opportunities, and facilitating communication between local organizations. The creation of such a role aims to streamline the volunteer process, making it easier for people to connect and contribute to their communities.
