Chaos Erupts in Ukraine: Over 300 Drones and Missiles Attack Kyiv and Odessa
Intense aerial attacks hit Kiev and Odessa, according to Ukraine's reports
In an unexpected turn of events, Ukraine is reeling from Russia's largest drone attack since the conflict began. On the night of June 10-11, 2025, Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and the southern port city of Odessa faced relentless aerial assaults.
Early Morning Assault on Kyiv
Kyiv woke up to the terrifying sounds of anti-aircraft fire as enemy drones simultaneouslu targeted several districts of the city, according to Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv military administration, via the Telegram messaging app. Tragically, a woman lost her life, and more were injured. Residential buildings were damaged, and fires erupted, necessitating the immediate response of emergency services.
A Bloody Night in Odessa
The southern Ukrainian city of Odessa also fell victim to Russia's ruthless strikes. Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov reported a 59-year-old man was killed and three others injured during a massive drone assault. Shockingly, civilian infrastructure such as maternity wards, medical emergency rooms, and residential buildings were hit. Remarkably, there were no injuries at the maternity ward, and patients and staff were safely evacuated.
Continued Onslaught and Casualties
Ukrainian authorities reported a wave of unprecedented nighttime drone attacks the previous night (June 9-10). A staggering 479 drones and an additional 20 cruise missiles were used in the attack, with impacts recorded at ten locations. The Military urged the population to seek shelter, and Mayor Vitali Klitschko urged Kyiv residents to remain in shelters, confirming a massive attack on the capital.
The renewed attacks come after ceasefire talks in Istanbul, with all efforts to achieve even a temporary truce during the Russian invasion failing thus far.
