Revamped Rap: Kanye West's Controversial Antisemitic Tracks Igniting Chaos
Aw, Shucks, I Gotta Ask for Permission?Kanye West, er, Ye, is leavin' folks all shook up with his latest controversial antisemitic raps. But the man's still makin' headlines, even if his tracks are gettin' yanked off charts faster than you can say "Mein Kampf."
WW3 on the Charts
Ye's latest track, WW3, is currently servin' as the ringmaster of Spotify's "Viral" clown car. It's been a turbocharged roller coaster, lyin' atop the Israeli chart list, skidaddlin' from the top of the Australian, German, and American list (but where'd it go again, pardon my rhyme?). It ain't disappearin' from Spotify or his artist page, nor from X (formerly Twitter). In the track, ol' Yeezy claims he's cozyin' up with Adolf Hitler's ol' tome before bed, and his pals are nothing but good ol' Nazis.
The Hitler Salute Song: Controversy 2.0
Ye's not done There, Toots. On May 8, he yanked up his pants and announced on X a second track named after the ol' Nazi salute. Sources cite racist, antisemitic slurs and Hitler quotes in this tune as well. It debuted on X, with viewers clockin' over 8 million on that one. YouTube yanked the video Pronto!, but fear not, content creators and reuploaders never seem to disappoint. TikTok's been hostin' numerous shares, too, with users makin' light of the track or praisin' it.
So, What Now, Cats and Kittens?
404 Media reportin' that Meta ain't hopin' on the reel train either, as users have kept uploadin' that music video for a week past its premiere. Pundits from all around haven't stopped gabbin' about this, with Joe Rogan arguin' that bannin' such content fuels its interest. The controversy's been fodder for discussions on racism, antisemitism, and free speech in the music industry, as well as online.
