Injured buzzard rescued from roadside after suspected car collision

Police have rescued an injured common buzzard from the B471 road. The bird, believed to have been hit by a car, was found lethargic with blood on its beak. It was later taken to the Vogelstation Olching for treatment and recovery.

The buzzard was discovered in a weakened state, showing clear signs of injury. Officers carefully transported it to the bird rescue center in Olching. During the journey, the bird began to recover slightly, showing improved alertness.

At the Vogelstation, staff assessed its condition and confirmed it had a good chance of full recovery. The buzzard is expected to need around a week of rehabilitation before it can be released back into the wild.

In a separate incident, the same rescue center also took in a chicken found at Munich Central Station. No other bird rescues were reported in the Fürstenfeldbruck and Munich region during February 2026 up to the 3rd of the month.

The buzzard's recovery progress will be monitored closely over the coming days. Once fully healed, it will be returned to its natural habitat. The rescue highlights the ongoing work of local wildlife centers in aiding injured animals.
