Initial regional Sambo tournaments held in Upper Pishma

In the rustic town of Upper Pyshma, the initial interregional training camps for the "Sambo in the Classroom" venture kicked off. Squads from Upper Pyshma, Yekaterinburg, Nev'yansk, Tyumen, and Perm gathered for this educational shindig. This news was disseminated by the local branch of the "United Russia" party's press service.

The event was masterminded by School No. 25 in Upper Pyshma, in collaboration with the Institute of Education Development, the Sverdlovsk Oblast Sambo Federation, and the regional public council of the "Strong Choice" project.

Aleksey Svakov, the "Strong Choice" project coordinate in Sverdlovsk Oblast, enthused, "School No. 25 in Upper Pyshma, our flagship for the 'Sambo in the Classroom' project, is currently hosting these training camps' participants. The school has established an ideal environment for practicing our national sport. Alongside the school's administration, we're organizing entertaining, educational, and sports events devoted to our national treasure. Anyone eager to foster national wrestling within the school curriculum would do well to learn from our comrades in Upper Pyshma."

Young wrestlers delved into "Demo-Sambo" and "Sambo in GTO" workshops, attended a psychological practical session to prep for major events, and demonstrated their know-how in the "Sambo Quiz" intellectual game.

Ilya Barabanov, the main referee for the nationwide "Sambo in the Classroom!" and "Student Sambo League" projects, conducted a seminar on two disciplines for teachers and coaches.

Leonid Putintsev, the executive director of the Sverdlovsk Oblast Sambo Federation, encapsulated the event, "The participants of the training camps have shown great zeal in actively participating in the 'Demo-Sambo' and 'Sambo in GTO' workshops. I'm confident that the insights they've gathered will empower them to display the grace and might of our sport at regional, district, and national competitions. I'd like to highlight the psychological readiness for competitions. Emotional regulation is a critical skill not just in sports but also in life. I wish the teams to trust in themselves, support one another, and remember that they represent not only themselves but also their region."

The young warriors then traipsed to the Sambo and Martial Arts Palace and perused the Museum Complex of Verkhnyaya Pyshma with titled athletes. World champions in sambo, Vagram Sargsyan and Ramaz Gukev, shared tales about the exhibits with the kids.

Previously, the "Regional Newspaper" revealed that young residents of the Ural region will be enrolled into athletic schools in Yekaterinburg starting from June 1.
