Things are heating up in the AFC Champions League Elite, with the semifinal matches happening right here in Saudi Arabia! In the first clash, our local teams Al Ahli and Al Hilal squared off.

Al Ahli managed to snatch a hard-fought victory with a 3-1 scoreline. Goals from Brazilian superstar Roberto Firmino (9 minutes), English star Ivan Toni (27), and Saudi standout Firas Al-Buraikan (90+8) sealed the deal for Al Ahli. Saudi midfielder Salem Al-Dawsari struck for Al Hilal in the 42nd minute, but it wasn't enough to turn the tide. The capital team had to play the remainder of the game a man down after Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly was sent off in the 59th minute.

Now, Al Ahli has advanced to the final of the AFC Champions League Elite, setting up a date with either Al-Nassr or the Japanese powerhouse Kawasaki Frontale. Their semifinal match is scheduled for April 30. Put simply, the final will take place on May 3, with Al Ahli facing off against the winner of the Al-Nassr vs. Kawasaki Frontale battle.
