The Deauville American Film Festival 2025 is set to mark its 50th anniversary with a vibrant and kaleidoscopic selection of independent films, featuring a mix of experienced filmmakers and debut directors.

In the official selection for the festival, Alessandra Lacorazza Samudio, winner of the 2024 Sundance prize for her film 'In The Summers', will be present, along with Roberto Minervini, whose 'The Damned' is set to premiere at Cannes. Tyler Taormina, with 'Christmas Eve At Miller’s Point', and Christy Hall, with 'Daddio', a taxi drama, are also part of the lineup.

First-time feature directors include David Fortune, whose 'Color Book' premiered at Tribeca, and Brandt Andersen, whose 'The Strangers’ Case' debuted at Berlin. Meredith Danluck, known for 'Why We Dream', and Raoul Peck, featured in American Doc Stories, will also be showcasing their work.

This year's edition stands out with the first feature films of Kristen Stewart and Scarlett Johansson behind the camera. The festival's programming celebrates all forms of cinema, encourages exchanges between generations and cultures, and offers opportunities to discover new talents and rediscover major works of American cinema.

The festival is open to all and values encounters between professionals and enthusiasts of the seventh art.

The jury will award prizes and reveal the palmares on September 13, 2025.
