Social media influencer Hannah Moody, 31, was discovered deceased near a hiking trail in Scottsdale, Arizona, according to the Scottsdale Police Department. The body was found at approximately 12:05 p.m. on May 22, after Moody had gone missing on May 21.
Authorities began the search for Moody, a California resident, shortly after receiving reports that she had been missing since 9:50 p.m. on May 21, with her loved ones expressing concern over her sudden disappearance. Officers initially searching the area found Moody's vehicle parked in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve's parking lot, but were unable to locate her using her phone or other tracing methods.
A more intensive search was launched the following day, involving Scottsdale Police officers, a Phoenix Police Department helicopter, drones, and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office search and rescue team and air unit. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Air Unit ultimately found Moody's body approximately 600 yards from the trail. Preliminary investigations revealed no obvious signs of trauma or foul play.
An official cause of death has yet to be determined by the Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office. Moody was an active hiker and social media influencer, best known for her Instagram and TikTok accounts featuring her passion for hiking and her faith.
