Influencer Annissha Garg's Cannes Dream Dashed by Visa Rejection

Influencer Annissha Garg's plans to walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival 2025 were dashed when her visa application was rejected just a week before the event. The rejection came despite Garg having invested a substantial amount, upwards of Rs. 35 lakhs, covering agency fees, styling, photography, and a custom couture dress.

Garg had praised actors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Alia Bhatt for their 'effortless style' at previous Cannes events. She had engaged top stylists and photographers, and even procured a custom pearl dress for the occasion. The total cost for these services and the dress amounted to Rs. 20 lakhs. Additionally, she had paid Rs. 15 lakhs through an agency for her visa application, the name of which remains unknown.

The visa rejection left Garg and her team disappointed. However, Garg reflected on the experience, stating it taught her valuable lessons about strategy, sacrifice, and the reality of the industry.

The cost of attending the Cannes Film Festival as an influencer can be astronomical, with agency fees, styling, photography, and couture outfits pushing the price tag to over Rs. 50 lakhs. Despite the significant investment, Garg's visa rejection served as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of such events and the importance of contingency planning.
