Infleqtion & SLM Partner to Revolutionize Quantum Processing

Infleqtion, a Boston-based company, has partnered with Silicon Light Machines (SLM) to integrate SLM's Displacement Phase Modulator (DPMTM) into Infleqtion's laser-tweezers platform. This collaboration aims to slash operation times and pave the way for the next generation of scalable quantum processors.

The DPMTM, a silicon-germanium (SiGe) MEMS device, acts as a piston-style phase modulator, moving a reflective element without physical contact. This technology enables sub-microsecond addressing of individual qubits and benefits optical multiplexing, leading to shorter runtimes for complex quantum algorithms. Infleqtion's broader vision includes miniaturizing laser systems and atom-addressing optics into photonic integrated circuits (PICs), with the DPMTM serving as a cornerstone component.

The partnership with SLM demonstrates tangible performance improvements that will resonate with potential customers in finance, pharmaceuticals, and materials science. Infleqtion's architecture relies on arrays of laser-based optical tweezers to trap and manipulate thousands of atoms, with dual-species arrays for low-overhead mid-circuit measurement. The combination of high-density atom arrays and swift optical control places Infleqtion at the forefront of neutral-atom quantum research.

Through a merger with Churchill Capital Corp X, Infleqtion will go public, positioning the company for rapid expansion of its commercial footprint. The capital raised will be used for scaling production, expanding R&D, and building infrastructure for a global customer base. This strategic move, combined with the partnership with SLM, solidifies Infleqtion's role in shaping the future of quantum computing.
