Indore cracks down on illegal parking to tackle Rajwada's traffic chaos
Indore's traffic police and civic officials have launched a fresh drive to ease traffic congestion in the bustling Rajwada area. Senior officers inspected key markets and directed shopkeepers to use only designated parking spots. The move aims to streamline traffic flow and reduce illegal parking in crowded zones.
DCP Rajesh Kumar Tripathi and Indore's additional commissioner led the inspection across major trading hubs. They visited Rajwada, Sarafa, Cloth Market, Khajuri Bazaar, Subhash Chowk, and nearby parking areas. Vehicles parked in no-parking zones were immediately penalised during the checks.
Shopkeepers and traders were reminded to keep their vehicles off the roads. Traders' associations pledged support to the traffic police and Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) for smoother enforcement. Officials also urged the public to follow parking rules and use marked spots.
To improve clarity, fresh white road markings will be painted to separate shop boundaries from traffic lanes. New direction boards will guide drivers to available parking spots. Regular patrols will continue in the area to prevent violations and maintain order.
The inspection has set stricter parking rules in motion. Improved markings, signage, and patrols are expected to cut down on traffic congestion. Authorities will now focus on upgrading parking facilities based on the findings.
