Indonesia's TOWR expands tower network as 5G demand surges in 2024

PT Sarana Menara Nusantara, a key player in Indonesia's telecom infrastructure, has expanded its tower network amid rising digital demand. The company, listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange as TOWR, added thousands of new towers and tenants in 2024 while reporting steady revenue growth. Its business model relies on leasing towers to major operators like Telkomsel and Indosat, ensuring long-term contracts and recurring income. The firm's operations centre on owning and managing a vast network of telecom towers across Indonesia. In 2024, it installed 3,869 new towers and secured 3,839 additional tenants, reinforcing its market position. This expansion followed the acquisition of IBST, which further strengthened its portfolio.

Revenue for 2025 climbed by 4.65% year-on-year to Rp13.33 trillion, driven by stable tower leasing demand. While exact utilisation rates remain undisclosed, industry trends suggest growing tenancy demand. Indonesia's push for 4G and 5G networks, alongside tower-sharing agreements, has increased efficiency and occupancy for established providers.

Global 5G rollouts continue to boost infrastructure needs, benefiting companies like PT Sarana Menara Nusantara. The country's high mobile penetration and ongoing network upgrades present significant growth opportunities. Major operators' investments in the company's towers ensure a reliable income stream through long-term leases. PT Sarana Menara Nusantara's expansion and revenue growth reflect Indonesia's booming telecom sector. The company's focus on tower leasing and partnerships with leading operators supports its financial stability. For investors, its stock offers exposure to a fast-growing Asian market with strong infrastructure demand.
