Indonesia’s Deadly Landslides Claim 23 Lives as Rescue Efforts Intensify
Heavy rains have triggered deadly landslides across Central Java, Indonesia, leaving at least 23 people dead. Rescue teams continue searching for dozens still missing as the death toll rises in affected districts.
In Banjarnegara district, rescuers recovered another body, bringing the local death toll to three. Over 500 personnel are still searching for 25 missing individuals in the area. Meanwhile, in Cilacap district, four more bodies were found, raising the number of fatalities there to 20. Three others remain unaccounted for in the same region.
The death toll now stands at 23, with 28 people still missing across two districts. Rescue operations remain ongoing as officials prepare to move residents away from landslide-prone areas. Financial aid will help displaced families during the transition.
