Individual under investigation for allegedly composing a Mail with Trump threat to manipulate deportation proceedings of another person in the U.S.
A Milwaukee dude, Demetric D. Scott, is in hot water regarding bogus death threats aimed at ex-President Donald Trump. The cheezeheads are slapping him with charges including witness intimidation, identity theft, and bailing out twice like a repeat offender. His lawyer, Robert Hampton III, could not be reached for comment.
Authorities filed a criminal complaint on Monday, stating that Scott was behind a letter sent to state and federal officials, with the return address and name of Ramón Morales Reyes.
Morales Reyes, a 54-year-old non-English speaking immigrant, got scooped up by homeland security on May 21, after dropping his kid off at school.
Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, broadcasted the arrest, stating that ol' Moralesey had jotted down a missive threatening to off the Commander-in-Chief and hightail it to Mexico. The announcement, shared on the White House's social media accounts, contained both the letter's image and a mugshot of Morales Reyes.
However, the narrative began to crumble as investigators spoke with Morales Reyes, and obtained a handwriting sample from him, which didn't match the penmanship in the threatening letters.
Investigators eventually learned that Scott, a former robbery mate of Morales Reyes, allegedly wrote the letters as a devious scheme to deport Morales Reyes and silence him ahead of Scott's upcoming robbery trial.
Scott's currently cooling his heels in the slammer, awaiting trial for armed robbery and aggravated battery. This wacky scheme to frame Morales Reyes has resulted in a whole suite of new charges against Scott.
