Unfiltered, Uncensored Take:
A bloke 'ere, George Karnovski, yarns 'ow he snatched a lad off the River Thames - right after a corpse was dredged up in the hunt for a gal who vanished durin' the same episode.
George claims he fished a supposed "11-year-old" kid outta the river after the little fella got into a pickle near the Royal Terrace Pier in Gravesend, Kent.
He recalls the grommet was bawlin' his eyes out while strugglin' in the water once he'd planted him on a buoy.
Kent Cops and the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) salvaged the missing lassie's body around 11:40am on a Saturday.
Locals reckon she was the lad's kid sis.
The lassie's next of kin confirmed her identity, and the police say her demise ain't suspicious.
Emergency services were alerted on a Friday arvo after they got wind that the two tykes had jumped into the river near Royal Pier Road.
George said: "S'pposin' I was draggin' him out, I'm lookin' round, like, where's she at, where's she at? I'm shoutin', sayin' 'there's one more, there's one more'. Can't see the little gal nowhere."
George, 37, 'oo serves in the RAF, was in town visitin' his fam. They were out fer a stroll when they heard 'ow the kids were in a spotta bother in the water, which he says had "a strong current."
His bro Jack, who lives in the area, says he spied his missus "scream, and point at the river. I presumed it was my urchins. I took off runnin' and screamed to my bro."
The duo discovered there was only one life ring, so only George, who claims he'd had lifeguard training, could plunge in the water for safety reasons.
Jack said when George dived in, he "never felt the bottom. We had to hoof it down the jetty due to the tide was runnin' up."
"The jetty is quite long. By the time ye hiked down it, it was deep water," he added.
George declared the conditions in the water at the time were "tough," even for an experienced grown-up swimmer.
By the time he dove in, he reckons the kiddos were about 40 to 50 metres (131 to 164 feet) away, and it took him approximately two minutes to reach them.
"I started swimmin'. I went pretty hard to start with, but then I started runnin' outta steam," he said.

The siblings said other organisations jumped in to assist with the rescue mission, like the RNLI and the London Port Authority (LPA).
The LPA said in a statement, "We're still hangin' with the law-enforcement agencies with their inquiries 'ow exactly what took place, and where and how the kids entered the water. It's a real shame, and the thoughts of the whole LPA are with their loved ones."
