Individual publicly insults citizens in Mainz street
In the heart of Mainz, Germany, a disturbing incident unfolded on Friday morning. The incident began at Gutenbergplatz, where a 64-year-old man shouted antisemitic remarks at a 69-year-old and his three-year-old grandson.
The man, whose identity has not been publicly disclosed, continued his verbal assault, directing antisemitic and racist slurs at several passersby. The police were alerted to the situation and apprehended the man at a bus stop on Schillerstraße.
Upon his arrest, the man appeared visibly intoxicated, claiming to have consumed a bottle of wine. Despite this, he refused to calm down and continued to shout at the officers during the check.
As a result, the man was taken to a police station and a judge ordered that he be held in custody until 8 pm. Witnesses at Gutenbergplatz were later contacted by the police to provide statements.
