Individual in Germany reportedly operates vehicle onto racetrack
The Federal Police Inspectorate Nuremberg, a key authority responsible for police safety and criminal prosecution in the area of German railway facilities, is currently investigating an incident that occurred at Erlangen station on September 6th.
Around 10 a.m. that day, an 87-year-old German man reportedly lost his way on the grounds of Erlangen goods yard and drove his car onto the railway track. The car became stuck after driving over a switch and sinking into the soft ground, causing property damage to the railway tracks.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident as the track was not in use at the time. The car recovery was challenging due to its location on a narrow path beside the tracks. Despite the difficulties, the German railway managed to remove the car using a handcar.
