Indigenous Leaders Honoured for Driving Economic Advancement at Historic Awards
The Indigenous Partnerships Success Showcase (IPSS) held its inaugural Shared Prosperity Awards on November 13, 2025, honouring outstanding leaders and initiatives that drive Indigenous economic advancement. The event, founded by Stewart Muir, celebrated exceptional partnerships and innovations across various sectors.
Karen Ogen, CEO of First Nations Natural Gas Alliance, was recognised for her exceptional leadership in Indigenous-corporate partnerships. She received the Excellence in Indigenous-Corporate Partnership award, highlighting her significant contributions to fostering mutually beneficial collaborations.
MP Ellis Ross was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement for Indigenous Economic Advancement award, acknowledging his enduring commitment to promoting economic prosperity within Indigenous communities.
Crystal Smith, former elected Chief Councillor of the Haisla Nation, was named Indigenous Business Leader of the Year. Her innovative approach to business and community development has left a lasting impact on the Haisla Nation.
Glyn Lewis, CEO of Renewal Development, was recognised as Champion for Indigenous Reconciliation. His dedication to fostering meaningful partnerships and supporting Indigenous communities was commended.
Dallas Smith, founder, president & CEO of the Nanwakolas Council, won the Excellence in Procurement or Supply Chain Partnership award. His leadership in creating sustainable and equitable procurement practices was celebrated.
Jennifer Taback, CEO of Design de Plume, was recognised as the Rising Indigenous Leader of the Year, honouring her emerging influence and potential in driving Indigenous economic progress.
Katisha Paul, Union of BC Indian Chiefs Youth Representative, was named Indigenous Youth Champion of the Year, acknowledging her exceptional contributions to advocating for Indigenous youth rights and empowerment.
Elaine Alec, founder of Naqsmist Storytellers, received the Community Innovation and Impact Award for her innovative storytelling initiatives that promote cultural preservation and community engagement.
