Indie distributor finalizes agreements for Momoko Seto's 'Dandelion's Odyssey' prior to its North American debut at Toronto (EXCLUSIVE)
In a world where environmental themes resonate deeply, a new animated film is set to captivate audiences worldwide. Titled Dandelion's Odyssey, this eco-fantasy film follows the extraordinary journey of four dandelion seeds as they embark on an unforgettable adventure to find a new home and settle for good.
Directed by Momoko Seto in her feature debut, Dandelion's Odyssey is a unique blend of timelapse photography, live-action shooting, and 3D CGI animation. The film's animation style is non-dialogue, with a hybrid CG animation that seamlessly integrates computer-generated visuals with artistic design elements. Guionne Leroy, known for work on Toy Story, led the animation, while production design was handled by Nils Dupré. The musical score is by Nicolas Beckre and Quenten Sirjacq.
The film is produced by Miyu Productions and Ecce Films, with co-production involvement from Arte Cinéma, U Media, CNRS, and Reepost. Producers include Emmanuel-Alain Raynal, Pierre Baussaron, and Emmanuel Chaumet.
Dandelion's Odyssey premiered at Cannes Critics’ Week and won the FIPRESCI Award. It also screened at the Annecy Animation Festival, receiving the Paul Grimault Award. Its North American premiere is set for the Centrepiece program at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2025.
Distribution deals have been secured globally through Indie Sales, including rights for Switzerland, Greece, Poland, Baltic states, ex-Yugoslavia countries, Latin America, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The French release is scheduled for March 2026 via Gebeka, with a Benelux release through Bantam.

Leading family movie distributor Gebeka will handle the French theatrical release of Dandelion's Odyssey in March 2026. Bantam ("Flow") will release the film in the Benelux.
