India's self-proclaimed image as a protector in cybersecurity has been laid bare by Dar.
In a significant development, authorities from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) are in negotiations with their UK counterparts to resume flights to Manchester in September, with potential expansion to London under a tentative programme. This move comes as Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the deputy prime minister and foreign minister of Pakistan, continues to project Pakistan's stance on various issues during his official visits to different countries.
The negotiations follow a period of strained relations between the two nations, triggered by unprovoked Indian aggression. Dar, however, has emphasized Pakistan's commitment to the respect, dignity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of all countries in the region. He has also asserted that Pakistan's narrative is based on facts and truth.
During his recent meetings with UK counterparts and authorities, Dar discussed all aspects of the bilateral ties, including the Kashmir dispute and climate change. Notably, he has criticized statements from Indian leaders and advised them to accept the defeat and move forward.
Pakistan's economy has shown signs of improvement under the incumbent government, with foreign reserves growth and inflation rates on a downward trend. Dar has stated that the government is committed to economic stability and prosperity. He also highlighted that Pakistan had suffered greatly in the global war on terrorism, losing 90,000 lives and incurring $192 billion in losses.
In a bid to strengthen international relations, Dar expressed a desire for Pakistan to join the D-20 group. He observed that unity would help Pakistan achieve its place among the comity of nations.
Dar has also addressed the issue of terrorism, stating that no one should tell Pakistan to hold talks on terrorism, as Pakistan has been the biggest victim of terrorism. It was during former premier Nawaz Sharif's tenure in 2014 that terrorism was eliminated from Pakistan.
The EU lifted the ban on PIA in November 2024, and the UK followed suit. However, during the 2025 India-Pakistan conflict, Pakistan's military sites experienced drone incursions and partial damage, with four soldiers injured. Pakistan denied involvement in the initial attacks that India attributed to it and described the Indian strikes as causing damage to military equipment and air defense systems.
The Pakistani parliament adopted a unanimous resolution strongly condemning Indian aggression, sending a message to the world about the nation's unity. The conflict saw escalations with India conducting strikes deep inside Pakistani territory, but there is no direct mention of Senator Dar’s statements or acknowledgments in the coverage of these events.
As the negotiations for the resumption of flights progress, Dar continues to advocate for peace and economic stability, urging the Pakistani diaspora not to indulge in petty politics on different national issues. He has also mentioned that the Indian media and bureaucracy have acknowledged the failure of their narrative about Pakistan's so-called hegemony.
