India's Delhi government revokes vacation time for employees during heightened tensions with Pakistan.
Holy shit, Delhi government's tossing out vacation for its employees
In light of the tension between India and Pakistan and the need for emergency preparedness, Delhi government has axed holiday leave for all its workers — no ifs, ands, or buts, according to an order from the damn Services Department. Seems like they're getting their shit together and beefing up for any potential disasters like a boss.
PTI news agency shared the juicy scoop on Thursday night, suggesting that this move was a smart precaution amid the tensions brewing between the two nations. So far, schools, colleges, and universities have been shut down in Punjab for three days and in Panchkula, but there's no word yet on whether Gurugram's schools will close.
The order, which dropped late last night, clearly states that all leave for officials in the Delhi government is on hold until higher-ups issue new orders. All district magistrates are currently meeting with their underlings to assess health and disaster management readiness, just in case things go south.
Tensions between India and Pakistan hit the roof on Thursday evening after a suspected drone attack from Pakistan's side got zapped by India's air defense systems in a few locations in Jammu, Punjab, and Rajasthan. This caused blackouts, air raid sirens, and even a suspension of an Indian Premiere League (IPL) match in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh.
This shit started when a suspected drone attack occurred in Jammu on Thursday, causing India's air defense system to step in and block it. explosions were heard in certain parts of Punjab and sensitive areas of Rajasthan the next day. It's all because of the military operation carried out by India on terror infrastructure in Islamabad, following the April 22 Pahalgam attack, which resulted in 26 civilian casualties.
So yeah, India struck Pakistan's air defense systems early on Thursday in retaliation for those nightly attacks. Before that, India had gone ahead with 'Operation Sindoor,' bombing terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in response to the Pahalgam attack.
